Recurring, deep, move-in/move-out and post-construction house cleaning for Oak Hill, Newton — from the Oak Hill Park ranches to the large homes along Dedham Street. Insured and owner-operated.

Oak Hill is Newton’s southernmost and most suburban village — post-war street grids, more open space than any other village, and no traditional walkable centre. It contains Newton South High School, Oak Hill Middle School, the Leventhal-Sidman JCC on Nahanton Street, and Nahanton Park and the Helen Heyn Riverway on the Charles. It is also the village where home sizes vary most wildly, which is why we always quote Oak Hill from the actual house rather than an average.
Get a free quoteOak Hill was market-garden farmland into the 1950s, so almost all of its housing is post-war — the only Newton village where that is true. Oak Hill Park is the centrepiece: 412 houses built in 1948 and 1949 on a former gravel quarry, the largest single project the City ever undertook, built for veterans who had lived in Newton before the war. All thirty-three streets and paths in it were named after Newton servicemen killed in the Second World War, chosen by lottery in April 1948.
Those original houses have a construction detail that genuinely matters for cleaning: they are single-storey, three-bedroom, built on concrete slabs with radiant heating — no basements and no radiators, which is atypical for New England. Around them sits everything else: contemporary split-levels, renovated 1930s capes, raised ranches, and large new brick colonials. A thousand-square-foot slab ranch and a new-build several times that size are not comparable jobs, so square footage comes first in any Oak Hill quote. There is no historic district here of any kind.

Because Oak Hill has the widest range of home sizes in Newton — original Oak Hill Park ranches of around a thousand square feet sit on the same streets as much larger new construction. A village average would misprice both.
A little. They are single-storey on concrete slabs with radiant heat, so there are no radiators to detail and no basement, and the whole job is on one level — usually quicker than a comparable two-storey house elsewhere in the city.
It depends on the home’s size, its condition and how often you clean. Use the estimate form on this page or call 508-561-9458 for a same-day quote — no in-home visit required.
